Ahh, What a Delightful Day

I had a nice dinner and delightful visit, as always, tonight with my cousins Lana and Tommy. They live out at Lake Oolagah and drove into Tulsa to share a meal with me. Then, when they brought me back to Kay and Stephen’s house, the neighbor, Jane, came running out and wanted me to sign her copy of my new book, ALMOST A MURDER, so I did. All of that evolved into a long conversation with Jane and her sidekick, Phyllis, in Jane’s kitchen about the writing of the book, the story behind it, the process of rolfing, my years in radio and TV and on and on.
I just now rolled in the door and am ready to hit the hay.

It was a beautiful day here in Tulsa so I was able to get my walk in without freezing my tail off. I always feel better when I walk and this was a good day to do it. I also got to visit with another rolfing client of mine, Shaunda, who brought a copy of my book by to get it signed for a friend. Shaunda is now engaged to be married to a wonderful guy in October, so I got to see pictures of her dress, her cake, and the snazzy outfit for Travis (her big dog who owns her but is willing to share her with Mike, the husband-to-be). It’s good to see her so excited and happy, even though the planning of a wedding is INTENSE. There seems to be more to do than you would ever imagine possible, but they will all be part of the wonderful memories of their special day. So happy for her. Good thing Mike knows what a terrific wife he’s about to snare.

So, that’s all the news that’s fit to print for right now. Sleep well, everyone. I hope you have only good dreams. JS

New Postcards are in – ask your favorite author for some or print one yourself

Hi Launch team. Jim and Jody have a selection of new Almost A Murder postcards. It’s time to pass them out. Do you want some to help spread the word? Two New Reviews – yeah for us!

Some of our supporters are trying to enter reviews onto Amazon and B&N, but are unable to because they bought the book elsewhere. That's a bit problematic for us because we want everyone's voice to ring out!  Therefore, we are going to put those reviews here... good or bad... we want readers to know.

My friend, Chris Bogdano, says...

"Jody, finished the book last night.  What a story (not even almost.)  But what I loved most was how it was written.  Really, really loved that.  You and Mr. Lloyd are both so talented.

Author Jim and Author Jody

The new legal thriller, ALMOST A MURDER, was written by author Jim Lloyd and author Jody Seay.

Author Jim Lloyd

Jim is the lawyer who defended the case that is depicted in the novel, ALMOST A MURDER.

Not only an author, Jim is also a member of the Missouri and Oklahoma Bar Associations as well as the Oklahoma Association for Justice (a preeminent and influential force at the Oklahoma State Capitol for over fifty years). It is meaningful to Jim that the group has worked to pass some of the most progressive legislation to protect the jury trial system in the United States.

Early in his career, the OK Bar Association honored Jim as “the Outstanding Young Lawyer for the State of Oklahoma”. In part, he was recognized for his volunteer service to the community, which he has continued throughout his life.

Mr. Lloyd was invited by Melvin Belli to become a Lifetime Trustee of the prestigious Melvin Belli Society. This honor is only offered to a select group of lawyers .

Jim holds a black belt in karate and is a local bee sting guru, dispensing stings and advice to all comers about the benefits of bee venom therapy. Lloyd is also the legal adviser to the national American Apitherapy Society.

Author Jody Seay

Jody was born a Texan and is the granddaughter of a cattle rancher. She is also an award-winning author, television show host, speaker, and musical playwright.  ALMOST A MURDER is Jody’s third book.

Seay’s numerous essays and short stories have appeared in newspapers and magazines across the country; her Facebook page, website and blog are entertaining and heartwarming. The site can be found at https://jodyseay.com.

As co-producer and TV host of the 30 minute show, BACK PAGE, Jody interviewed Pacific Northwest writers about the ‘story behind the story’: what compels a writer, the nuts-and-bolts of getting published, and the intimate relationship between author and audience. Three hundred shows spanning 10 years demonstrate Jody’s contribution to authors and to the greater community. Jody has lived and honored her belief that everybody has a story to tell.

Ms. Seay is often on the road to read and speak at book clubs, libraries and bookstores. Public speaking has become a big part of her life in recent years. She can talk to anyone at anytime. She is from Texas after all! Jody has been the keynote speaker at writer’s conferences and political fundraisers and lectured at universities. She looks at the world from a unique boots-on-the-ground perspective.

Jody is also an Advanced Certified Rolfer.

“Almost a Murder”: Great Drama

In this book, a true courtroom drama called “ALMOST A MURDER“, readers have an unparalleled “you are there view” of this epic legal battle .

The authors, Jody Seay and Jim Lloyd recount how a wealthy “Son of Oklahoma” is slain by his delicate foreign wife. The brutal facts are clear to the police: she cracked his skull with a bat, shot him twice, she strangled him, dumped his naked body, lied repeatedly and then, when cornered, she confessed. Everyone believes it’s going to be a slam-dunk murder trial and a quick trip to a lethal injection.

Her lawyer is Jim Lloyd. He’s a cub lawyer with no criminal trial experience. She has no friends, no money, and barely speaks English. Together they stand against powerful political and financial forces who will do almost anything get retribution.

In this courtroom drama, the authors’ stunning ability to capture pivotal moments and to reveal human weakness (with all of the personalities on display) show why this searing trial made the headlines week after week.

Ultimately this REAL-LIFE COURTROOM DRAMA is one of the most studied legal clashes in US law today. One award-winning author and one lawyer who was in the thick of it all; together they create a spellbinding account of uncertain justice, fight for family, and the struggle to do what’s right.

Almost a Murder will be sold in brick-and-mortar stores and online.  If it is not on the shelves yet, please go in to the store and ask for it.

And if you love the book, which we are sure you will, it would be wonderful to hear about it. Drop a comment here at the website or go online and leave a review. And, of course, spread the word to all who follow and adore you.

Happy reading and enjoy the courtroom drama, Almost A Murder!
